In 1990 the center of the city was going through a lot of change. Failed business after failed business kept closing, so successful development was sorely needed. The Torntree Partnership was formed, and the city's first office building was built. The building has five floors, with a McDonald's occupying the ground level and four floors of office space above. The Legoland Centre parking has always been an integral part of the building, and elevated access from the garage to the Thorntree Building eases access for building tenants.
